Columnist aims at guns, misses the target :: 05/14/2022

Don’t you love it when a gun control advocate pens a screed that they just know is going to put gun owners and Second Amendment activists in their place, only to have it blow up in their face?

The Right of the People- Why the Elites Hate the Second Amendment :: 05/14/2022

Money lets you buy what you want. Now that many of our Deep Blue cities have defunded the police and crime has exploded, people with money are buying off duty police officers to stop crime in their neighborhoods. Though covered in the news, the use of private security is an expansion of a long-term trend. What should make news are the billionaires trying to disarm the rest of us.

Pennsylvania State Police Testifies That It Misleads the PA General Assembly In Annual Firearms Report Regarding Background Check Delays And More… :: 05/13/2022

Yesterday, during our hearing for a preliminary injunction against the Pennsylvania State Police in relation to the substantial delays in its responses to background check determinations (i.e. approvals/denials) in Firearms Owners Against Crime – Institute for Legal, Legislative, and Educational Action (FOAC-ILLEA), et al v. PSP Commissioner Evanchick, 218 MD 2022, Lieutenant Shandra Keeler, Director of the Firearms Division, testified, under oath, that they purposely do not include the time the PICS Operations Unit is closed (i.e. 10PM to 8AM) in the calculation of their average determination times provided to the General Assembly in the PSP’s annual firearm reports as required by 18 Pa.C.S. 6111.1(i).

Why are "smart guns" always a step away from the market? :: 05/13/2022

When I was at SHOT Show this past January, I noted that a number of “smart gun” companies had set up booths with their products on display, and that this looked to be the year that a so-called smart gun was going to be available to the general public.

Did a NJ Prosecutor’s office admit to gun buyback’s illegality? :: 05/12/2022

Feel good, do nothing, so-called “gun buybacks”, more appropriately attributed as compensated confiscations by Cam, just don’t get old. They don’t get old because the programs fit the description of that insane person doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. The spirit of a compensated confiscation may seem altruistic, but the big picture clearly prints them as what they are…a way and means to help in disarming America. They don’t lower crime and it’s been proven to actually acutely raise the amount of crime in a given area. Another New Jersey amnesty program was announced a couple of weeks ago, and let’s see what they’re all about.

Media Rip Gun Owner Privacy for 'Hampering Gun Violence Studies' :: 05/12/2022

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- The Los Angeles Times is reporting that lawsuits filed by the National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation and “other gun rights groups” challenging California’s sharing of admittedly “detailed information on gun owners” with researchers is hampering so-called “gun violence studies.”

Firearms industry fights back against financial discrimination :: 05/11/2022

Anti-gun banks and woke corporations seeking to impose their own restrictions on companies within the firearms industry are now facing pushback from the industry itself in the form of the FIND Act; legislation that blocks companies that discriminate against the firearms industry from doing business with state governments. On today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co, the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s director of government relations Darren LaSorte joined me to explain how the bill works and where it could be soon enshrined into law.

If left wants to fight gun violence, then focus on violence :: 05/11/2022

A lot of gun rights advocates bristle at the term “gun violence.” I don’t, but many of you do, and you’re not without good reason to do so. Especially since it somehow pretends that there’s literally no other kind of violence that should demand our attention.

Anti-gun Press Parrots Misleading Stats :: 05/10/2022

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- As NRA-ILA recently pointed out, gun control researchers and their establishment press lapdogs propagate misleading “science” to advance their political agenda. Sometimes this involves sophisticated statistical modeling, other times it involves the crude mischaracterization of data. The anti-gun advocates’ longest-running version of the latter involves conflating firearm-related deaths among children and those among juveniles and young adults.

It's not Constitutional Carry they hate, it's the right to bear arms :: 05/10/2022

The Police Executive Research Forum is often described as a “think tank for law enforcement issues,” but the group has a longstanding habit of embracing almost every gun control position pushed by groups like Everytown for Gun Safety, Brady, and the rest. Often, these anti-gun viewpoints are couched as common sense, especially by the anti-gun mainstream media. In 2018, for example, the Washington Post laughably claimed that a PERF event in which bans on “large capacity” magazines and red-flag laws were promoted “did not discuss gun control or gun rights explicitly,” even though both topics are high priorities for the gun control lobby.

Members of Congress join Senators in smacking down Biden’s ATF :: 05/10/2022

The hub-bub and amount of attention that’s been paid towards executive overreach coming from the Biden-Harris administration continues. The ATF, in general but in particular under this administration, is a rogue agency that’s seeking to create their own laws. The ATF also tries to interpret laws already passed by Congress and enacted, in their own distorted way.

Everytown’s shouting that the sky’s falling :: 05/09/2022

Nearly every colleague I have, whether here at Bearing Arms, over at AmmoLand News, or the numerous content creators I know all over the web, everyone seems to agree the anti-freedom caucus is coming unglued just thinking about NYSRPA v. Bruen. Now I certainly don’t want this to turn into a A League of Their Own kind of moment and say “We’re gonna win!” only to have our star player drop the ball, but I really do think we’re going to win. Based off an email a friend and tipster sent me, the gun grabbing anti-civil rights crowd thinks the same. In preparations for what’s likely to be an upset to the ilk of Nanny Bloomberg and the rest, Everytown for Gun Safety sent out the following e-blast begging for money:
