Another Bloomberg MAIG Felon? :: 07/10/2014

Ten years for corruption. It could not happen to a nicer Mayor Against Illegal Guns. Let's call it Katrina Karma for all the guns that were confiscated under his watch from those trying to survive the disaster of a city not prepared to deal with SHTF.And those of you who have not done so, get a copy of The Great New Orleans Gun Grab by Gordon Hutchinson. I recommend the paper version of the book to slap the crap out of anybody who dares to say "There are no gun confiscations in this country" as it lasts longer than the Kindle reader and it is cheaper to replace.

Miami-Dade Police Union President Says "You're on your own" :: 07/10/2014

First, a little history. In January of 2012, 118 cops got laid off, and imbedded in the link above is a video clip from the top cop, telling folks what the cuts mean so far as patrols. In the next link, just recently put out, he clearly states "you're on your own".

Secure your firearms :: 07/10/2014

Secure your firearms.
  Secure your firearms. Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Phil Reagan says he came home to discover two strangers inside his house. He says they were stealing his guns, and then they used those weapons to try to shoot him. He says this isn't the first time he's been robbed, someone stole guns from his home back in April, too. "I was broke into while I was in the hospital for 31 days for my leg" Reagan said. Reagan says he's an avid shooter. He thinks he may have been targeted because people know he has guns.
  Here's 25 cents for a ticket on the "clue" train. Read the article, and think Guardian Angel. His must have been working overtime. We're amazed he's alive to tell the tale.We're amazed he's alive to tell the tale.

Fast and Furious. The anger is still palpable. :: 07/09/2014

The government watchdog Judicial Watch is urging a federal judge to allow access to crucial documents related to Operation Fast and Furious. The legal battle comes after the group made a Freedom of Information Act request for the documents.
  The administration has asserted executive privilege in keeping the documents from being released to Congress, and Attorney General Eric Holder was cited for contempt of Congress two years ago over the refusals.
  Bravo to the good men and women who will NOT let this sleeping dog lie.

Do an average of nine children a day die in the United States of gunshot wounds? PolitiFact Oregon Calls Bravo Sierra :: 07/08/2014

"Do an average of nine children a day die in the United States of gunshot wounds? PolitiFact Oregon Calls Bravo Sierra. The national Brady Campaign spokeswoman confirmed the figure. "It is correct to say that 8 children and teens die from gun violence every day," Fuson said in an email. "It is also correct to say that 9 children and teens are shot unintentionally." We checked the nonfatal number as well and found that 8.86 children are unintentionally shot each day and survive, according to the CDCs online database and found that about half of all youth gun deaths, 7,223 of 14,258, are 18 and 19 year olds.

Moms Demand Action push the imaginary Iron Pipeline to blame Chicago's violence :: 07/08/2014

"Moms Demand push the imaginary Iron Pipeline to blame Chicago violence. Chicago had a brutal 4th of July weekend (It cannot be called Independence Day for obvious reasons): 82 people shot, 14 deaths. Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy says he does not know what happened to lead to the increase of shootings, but have no fear because the Moms are here! It was all those guns that came from outside Chicago, from places like Indiana and Mississippi that must be blamed! Except we already know it is not quite true. There is this article in the very pro-gun New York Times (sarcasm off) which details the tracing of firearms recovered in Chicago.

Solution to violence lies in mental health, not gun control :: 07/08/2014

"Solution to violence lies in mental health, not gun control. With the recent tragic shootings in Santa Barbara, Las Vegas and Seattle, I believe there is a distinct shift in how many in the media, public square and halls of government are discussing solutions to violence. The quick calls for more gun laws by groups such as the Brady Campaign and Violence Policy Center have shown little results, and I would argue hinge on antiquated rhetoric. As a former street cop, Army officer and member of the state Assembly, I have a unique, alternate perspective based on my years of real-life experience arresting criminals, engaging the mentally ill, handling a multitude of weapons and then analyzing the public policy aspects of gun control."

Chicago just won't give up--more! :: 07/07/2014

Chicago just won't give up. I have the feeling that Chicago Pols have figured that the Concealed Weapons Permit system in Illinois is May Issue after all. Then again they have been having such a crappy time with the courts, hopefully it will backfire and make the system even easier. The Chicago Tribune reports a "flood" of lawsuits over CCW denials. Obama is from Chicago. Rahm Emanuel is Mayor. Do the math.

Educating our children to be VICTIMS :: 07/06/2014

"In particular, under the new code of conduct, consequences for school fights vary by the role of each student in the fight. Those who incite the fight face harsher penalties than those who only respond to it. But even those who respond still face some discipline, which in middle and high school can include one to three days of in-school suspension. By comparison, students who initiate or are mutual participants in a fight get a mandatory one day in-school suspension and could face up to five days."

Mom's Demand Action are Liars, Again, or still? :: 07/06/2014

"86 Americans are shot and killed in our country every single day. That comes to just over 31,000 people a year. Now, the latest numbers I was able to find were the FBINegligent Manslaughter and they come up to 14,612. You would not think that the highly moral and trustworthy Shannon Watts would include suicides by firearm, right? Those people were not shot but they shot themselves. Then again those suicide victims might have been suffering from split personality disorders so Moms Demand can argue that they were shot by "somebody else they knew" (A.K.A. their alter egos) and make it to the statistic. Nah. They wouldn't lie like that, would they?"

National Gun Victims Action Council: Fight Open Carry by committing a crime. :: 07/06/2014

"Apparently somebody had a great idea to counter people carrying openly and NGVAC is all excited. My[NGVAC] proposal is as follows-we should all leave. Immediately. Leave the food on the table in the restaurant. Leave the groceries in the cart, in the aisle. Stop talking or engaging in the exchange. Just leave, unceremoniously, and fast. But here is the key part-don't pay. Stopping to pay in the presence of a person with a gun means risking your and your loved ones' lives; money shouldn't trump this."

The Unintended Consequence of Flaunting your Right to Bear Arms :: 07/02/2014

  "And you can thank Open Carry Texas once More: Target does not want ANY open carry in its stores-NATIONWIDE! This is a complicated issue, but it boils down to a simple belief. Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create. Notice that is not the Open Carry of Long Guns but ALL guns and it is not subject to Texas but nationwide."
