FPC Sues San Diego in 2A Lawsuit Challenging Ban on Home-Building Firearms, Precursor Parts :: 09/25/2021

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 24, 2021) — Mere hours after San Diego, California Mayor Todd Gloria signed Ordinance no. O-2022-7 into law, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) last night filed a new Second Amendment lawsuit challenging the new ban that prohibits individuals in the City from home-building firearms, including the possession of parts and materials necessary to self-manufacture constitutionally protected arms. The confiscatory terms of the Ordinance additionally require that all persons who have any of the banned items dispossess themselves of the items within 30 days. FPC Law also filed a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction today to block enforcement of the law. The complaint and application for temporary restraining order in Fahr v. San Diego can be found at FPCLegal.org.

Dems Slip Red Flag Provision Into Military Spending Bill :: 09/24/2021

While Joe Biden’s anti-gun legislative agenda has stalled out in Congress, the gun control lobby is still looking for ways to infringe on the rights of gun owners, and one of their latest poison pills can be found in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act. On today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co we’re highlighting what Gun Owners of America is calling a “red flag” gun confiscation provision in the NDAA, and why it must be stripped out of the legislation before a vote is cast.

Appeals Court Reverses Ruling On Gun Sales Under Age 21 :: 09/23/2021

A while back, a federal appeals court issued a ruling that was, in my opinion, critical to gun rights. In particular, the ruling essentially said that adults under the age of 21 still had a right to keep and bear arms. This seems obvious since we routinely accept people this age to be able to vote, say what they wish, worship as they wish, and so on.

19 Democrat AGs Back NY Carry Laws In SCOTUS Brief :: 09/22/2021

We’re now less than two months away oral arguments in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, the case dealing with a challenge to New York’s subjective “may issue” carry permitting laws that the Supreme Court accepted back in the spring. The final round of briefs are being submitted to SCOTUS this week, and one of the first to drop comes from 19 Democrat Attorneys General. Led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, the anti-gun coalition features AGs from several “shall issue” states, including Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvana, and Virginia. In fact, the Democratic AGs in the Constitutional Carry states of Maine and Vermont have also signed on to the brief, which argues that New York and other states should be able to deny the average resident their right to bear arms.

Court Rules Illinois Gun Ban In Forest Unconstitutional :: 09/17/2021

The idea of a gun ban anywhere in Illinois isn’t overly shocking. While most of the state leans pro-gun, geographically speaking, the city of Chicago dominates the state politically. As such, I’m never surprised to see a bit of anti-Second Amendment nonsense come out of the state.

MA Court Finds Cops Didn't Have Probable Cause In Gun Search :: 09/16/2021

Sometimes, it’s easy for us to look at things that happen to alleged criminals and shrug. I know I’m guilty of it far more often than I’d like to admit. After all, gang bangers cause so many problems not just for society as a whole, but for gun owners specifically. After all, their actions are often used as justification for stripping us of our rights.

LA Judge Reprimanded For Opinions On Gascón, Guns, BLM :: 09/15/2021

Much as we might like for people to be completely and totally unbiased, that’s never really going to happen. People have opinions on various things, and we live in a country where people are still free to voice those opinions, even on topics like gun control and Black Lives Matter.
