CPRC: Obama administration people still pushing out junk science on gun issues :: 11/21/2017

A new very short report from a few people at the Harvard Business School claims that waiting periods reduce homicides, though they find that there is no consistent effect on suicides.  The report is titled “Handgun waiting periods reduce gun deaths,” and it was released by the National Academy of Sciences.  While neither the report nor the media coverage notes it, the report indicates that background checks are more likely to increase homicides and particularly suicides than to decrease them.

DRGO: Gun statistics - Should they be tortured or gently cross-examined? :: 11/21/2017

In a recent letter to the editor in The Telegraph, Mr. Colin Frayne began his letter pointing out the need for “factual information” about guns.  He cites the statistic that for 2016, “36,861 total annual deaths [were] from guns, of which 58 deaths were from terrorism.” And compares it to Japan, which allegedly had only one firearm death that same year.
