WHY I CARRY: Woman Shot Multiple Times by Home Invaders as She Slept in Bed :: 08/11/2014
Here is another one of our "Why I Carry" stories. These stories, unlike defensive gun uses, take a look at situations that may have turned out very differently if the victim(s) had been armed. These stories also serve as an important reminder as to why it's important to carry everyday.
The series of articles where we highlight stories that could have turned out differently is called "Why I Carry". However, in this case, it should probably be called "Why I Keep a Gun on My Nightstand".
In this case, a 57 year old woman in Jacksonville, Florida was shot multiple times as she slept in her bed by two armed home invaders according to First Coast News.
The shooting happened in the wee hours of Friday morning. The victim, according to neighbors, lived alone.
The woman, Jacqueline Newkirk, according to JSO was shot multiple times with her injuries described as non life threatening.
