What happened to the Senator Toomey we thought we knew? :: 04/09/2013
The press now reports Senator Pat Toomey is the top Republican working for a deal to pass Obama's gun control. Not only is Toomey REFUSING to support Senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee's filibuster of Obama's gun control package; he's actually working behind the scenes to help Obama PASS new gun control. And his action is critical because a dozen or so weak-kneed Republicans and squishy Democrats wait in the wings, ready to pass this anti-gun nightmare if Toomey will lead the surrender.
No wonder insiders are starting to call Pat Toomey "One Term Toomey" and "Benedict Toomey." While Toomey may try to talk like a conservative, he has a history of compromising away your Second Amendment rights.
• In 2011, he voted AGAINST Senator Rand Paul's amendment to the Patriot Act that would have protected gun owners from warrantless searches.
• He's also supported BANNING private firearms sales at gun shows (Roll Call, H.R. 2122, June 18, 1999).

You see, without Pat Toomey and other weak-kneed Republicans trying to compromise with President Obama's gun grabbers in the Senate, Obama's gun control legislation would very likely be dead already.
