Utah Carry Permit No Longer Recognized By The State Of Minnesota :: 08/13/2015

Greetings in Freedom, Just a heads up to individuals who use a UTAH permit to carry concealed in MN.  Your Utah permit is NO LONGER RECOGNIZED by the State of Minnesota.

The following list shows the permits MN recognizes. Utah is no longer among them.

Unfortunately, the best advice I can give you in order to be legal in MN is to apply for a non-resident MN permit. Minnesota has very cumbersome training mandates and requires you retake the training class EVERY 5 YEARS when you renew your permit.

Other states do have reciprocity with MN but KEEP IN MIND that you are NOT exempt from Gun Free School Zones (1000 ft from the edge of school property) unless you have a permit issued BY THE STATE THE SCHOOL ZONE IS IN.

Some people are not concerned about the Federal Gun Free School Zone law (and the fact that carrying with reciprocity DOES NOT allow you to carry in them) but you should ask yourself if you ever actually USE your gun in self-defense, given the propensity of the Fed’s to now get involved and “investigate” many high-profile self-defense shooting cases… (George Zimmerman) Do you think they’d nail you for carrying illegally in a school zone?

Carry on,

About:
Wisconsin Carry, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and reclamation of the rights of law-abiding Wisconsin residents to carry in the manner of their choosing. We believe that “open carry” and “concealed carry” are choices to be made by law-abiding citizens based on their situation and preference. Wisconsin Carry, like many gun-rights organizations in Wisconsin, is investing a great deal of resources to get Wisconsin law changed to allow concealed carry this next legislative session by proposing Constitutional Carry. Wisconsin Carry, Inc. will continue to use legal recourse to deter unlawful treatment of law-abiding Wisconsin residents who currently exercise their right to open carry, and soon will exercise their right to concealed carry in Wisconsin.
