Update on Vet's Standoff Against GOV's Attempt to Confiscate Guns - VIDEO :: 08/08/2015

Yesterday we posted a chilling story about how the VA is actively attempting to confiscate guns. This isn’t just headlines with no proof. This is real story with overwhelming evidence the Obama VA is working to disarm Americans.

Major Update on Vet’s Standoff Against GOV’s Attempt to Confiscate Guns — Here is Why a Sheriff and 2 State Reps are Standing With Him (And ALL Veterans Should be on High Alert) UPDATED WITH VIDEO

For those who don’t know what happened, last week a county Sheriff, two state reps and about 100 local citizens caused a VA inspector to cancel plans to confiscate a veteran’s firearms in Priest River, Idaho. The story confirms what we’ve been reporting for several months now. That the Obama administration is moving to disarm millions of social security recipients and veterans by deeming them incompetent to own a firearm.

At the time of yesterday’s post we reported information that was posted by other media outlets. And at the time very little information was available. It was thought that the veteran had checked a box in his paperwork telling the VA that he had help filing his financial paperwork and this is why the VA “ruled” he wasn’t competent to own guns. This may still partially be the case. We’re working to confirm this part and get more information to report.

But what we now know is one of the state representatives who rallied at the veteran’s home to block the gun confiscation, Heather Scott, read a letter from the VA confirming the confiscation was indeed planned. She posted about it on her Facebook page, a post that prompted the rally to defend the man’s rights.

Time to Stand against Gun Confiscation in North Idaho!
Based on an assessment of a letter I received, I believe that the Department of Veterans Affairs is coming to a veteran’s home in Priest River today to check for and confiscate his guns based on nothing more than a stroke which has left him with some mild physical impairment.  If you feel, as I do, that our veterans should not be treated like 3rd class citizens or common criminals, please join me between 9am and noon at the Congregational Church parking lot on HWY 2 to stand with this Veteran and show that the citizens of Bonner & Boundary County will stand firm on this issue.

So the VA made a determination to void this man’s 2nd amendment rights because he had a stroke? Yep. Here’s what the VA sent to the vet. “As we advised you previously, the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act prohibits you from purchasing, possessing, receiving or transporting a firearm or ammunition based upon determination that you are incompetent to handle your VA funds,” the letter said. “You may be fined and/or imprisoned if you knowingly violate this law.”

This is the exact same framework the Social Security Administration will soon be using. The claim is that if anyone gets assistance with handling their funds/finances, they are not competent to own firearms.
