Texas Self-Defense: Suspected burglar shot dead after attacking homeowner with knife :: 03/16/2022
HOUSTON - A suspected burglar is shot dead by the homeowner after attacking him with a knife.
The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at a home near Canal Street and 74th Street on Houston's Southeast Side.
Houston Police said the homeowner realized there was someone inside the home when he went to check on it after several other break ins recently had happened at his house. After failing to get in the side door, he went to the front door where he found the suspect leaving. The suspect then attempted to stab the homeowner with a knife, but the man pulled out his gun and shot the suspect.
The suspect was taken to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.
Detectives said the suspect took cash from the home before he was caught.
The investigation is ongoing.
