I still believe liberals mean well, and when they use their passion to defend and protect rights they like, they do well. When they use that passion to infringe rights they don’t like, they remind me of the old KKK Democrats.
I will use an analogy to explain.
Liberals want universal background checks even though today they do nothing to actually prevent criminals from getting a gun. They do hinder the law-abiding from getting one. Failing a background check rarely, if ever, starts an investigation to see if a felon has just broken a law that has a mandatory 10-year sentence. Yet if that same felon tried to pass a fake $20, he would be arrested immediately.
If speeding tickets were enforced the same way background checks are enforced, no one would ever get a ticket until after they killed someone.
If liberals were allowed to stop cocaine and heroin abuse, the same way they want to stop gun abuse, they would require all sick people to get a background check before getting a medicine, they would designate medicine free zones, ban an MD’s practice within 1,000 feet of a school, ban large capacity pill bottles, and make people register their Bayer aspirin and require everyone to use childproof caps even for childless people with arthritis.
Liberals mean well, but their fear of guns allows them to conjure up solutions that only infringe the law-abiding and do nothing to actually keep guns out of criminal’s hands. This is similar to the voting laws that do nothing to actually stop the current crop of voter fraud and do hinder some law-abiding folks.
Perhaps we could start to actually keep guns out of criminals’ hands by actually investigating and prosecuting the tens of thousands of failed background checks that occur every year. Actually locking up criminals that break laws to prevent them from getting guns. Nothing else will stop them from getting a gun, despite how the delusional liberals feel. Well, using your gun to defend yourself from a predator also stops them, but that seems to upset liberals, too. What is a law-abiding citizen to do? Vote for people that do understand your very protected right to bear arms. Politicians that truly understand that also tend to protect other rights. Even ones conservatives like to infringe.
