Schumers (Senator Chuck, Comedian Amy) Step Up Their 'Crusade On Guns' :: 10/26/2015

Comedian Amy Schumer (R) and U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) speak at a press conference calling for tighter gun laws in an effort to stop mass shootings and gun violence on August 3, 2015 in New York City. A gunman killed two women last month in Louisiana during a showing of Schumer's movie "Trainwreck."

Her cousin, Sen. Charles Schumer (D. – NY), knows that.

On Sunday, they stood together in front of New York’s City Hall for what they call their “crusade on guns.”

It started in August, when they teamed up days after a gunman fatally shot two women in a Louisiana theater showing “Trainwreck,” starring Amy Schumer. The Schumers urged lawmakers to back a gun control bill sponsored by the senator.

Now, they’re trying to create a national groundswell forcing a vote. They’re asking people to call, write, tweet and post on Facebook to stop gun violence.
