This legislation would prohibit lawful private transfers of firearms at gun shows.

Legislation Overview

Title: To prohibit the transfer of a firearm at a gun show by a person who is not a licensed dealer.

Subject: Crime and law enforcement: Firearms and explosives: Licensing and registrations: Retail and wholesale trades

Description: Makes it unlawful for a person who is not a licensed gun dealer to transfer a firearm at a gun show. The prohibition does not apply to a transfer to a licensed manufacturer, importer, dealer, or collector. A violator is subject to criminal penalties—a fine, a prison term, or both.
