Piers Morgan Admits He Handled the Issue of Gun Control Poorly :: 12/12/2014

In a somewhat surprising interview, Piers Morgan agreed to sit down with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly earlier this week.

Of course, during the course of the interview the issue of guns came up and Morgan surprisingly admitted he may have gone about his anti-gun banter all wrong.

“I think I became too aggressive. I think I didn’t listen to the other side as much as I should have done. I think there is a culture of gun ownership in America which I didn’t afford enough respect to.”

When asked how he would handle the issue given a national platform again Morgan responded as follows:[Video] Piers Morgan Admits He Handled the Issue of Gun Control Poorly

“It would be a much more two-way conversation I would have with people to try to understand why America has an obsession with guns, as many people see it and how you get to a place [where] there is more safety involved in guns than perhaps there is now.”

Granted, Morgan didn’t say his beliefs on guns has changed, but this demeanor is extremely different than the shouting, angry, vehemently anti-gun Brit we saw on CNN night after night.

When Morgan had a nightly show on CNN he would regularly use his time slot to rail against guns, gun owners and American gun laws.

When Morgan’s show was canceled amid low ratings he speculated that his stance on guns likely played a role in the loss of his audience.

Morgan is currently an editor at the Daily Mail and still resides in the US.
