Oklahoma Self-Defense: Woman shoots man after he allegedly assaulted her and threatened to set her on fire :: 06/03/2020

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (KTUL) — The Broken Arrow Police Department says a man is recovering in the hospital after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

Police say officers responded to a business on a report of a domestic assault involving a shooting.

When the arrived at the scene, they talked with a female victim who had diesel fuel and blood on her shirt and they found Wesley Allan Hahn, 38, with a gunshot wound to his head.

The victim reported that Hahn, who she previously had a romantic relationship with, had been repeatedly texting her that day. She reportedly felt scared for her safety and took a handgun with her as she was putting diesel fuel into her work vehicle. The victim stated she was approached and subsequently physically assaulted by Hahn, who hit her with a rock and struck her several times with his fists. The victim said Hahn then poured diesel fuel on her and threatened to light her on fire.

The victim said she tried escaping to her truck, but Hahn again grabbed her. She stated she feared for her life, pulled her handgun, and shot Hahn. The victim then used Hahn’s cellular phone to call 911 to report the incident.

Hahn is currently in stable condition at a hospital.

Once released from the hospital he will be booked into the Wagoner County Jail on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon-domestic (AFCF), domestic assault and battery and first-degree arson.
