Ohio Self-Defense: Hamilton shooting may be result of self-defense :: 06/13/2015
HAMILTON, Ohio -- A shooting in Hamilton sent one man to a hospital but police say the incident isn’t as simple as it first appears.
The shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Lane Avenue.
Officers said 25-year-old Michael Summerour was shot with a small caliber gun and suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his thigh. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives said Summerour and the person officers believe shot him were still at the scene when police arrived.
Investigators said they believe the shooting was the result of self-defense and no charges have been filed.
The department said the investigation is ongoing and charges may be filed in the future.
