North Carolina Self-Defense: Habitual Felon Involved in Armed Home Invasion :: 03/26/2016

It would almost be laughable if it weren’t so pathetic.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one: a felon was released from prison… you know where this is going. Do you think he chose to clean up his act and start following the law? Did he pay attention to the parameters set upon him to maintain his freedom? Just what do you suppose this poor, clueless man could have done to find himself back behind bars?

When progressives start talking down to us about how new gun laws are “necessary” to stop gun violence, we should immediately submit the following information:

According to New Hanover County Jail records, Julius Ervin Jones, 37, has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and being a habitual felon.

A felon in possession of a firearm and being a habitual felon.

Well, he probably didn’t know any better, right?

Armed with a gun, Jones broke into a Wrightsville Avenue home late Tuesday night and confronted two 35 year old men inside. A fight broke out among the men and during the scruff, the gun went off.

Thankfully, neither of the men was hit and one of them was able to get the gun away from Jones, holding him at gunpoint until police arrived.

While Jones is being held on a $2 million bail, progressives like Gavin Newsom and Michael Bloomberg are working feverishly to shove new gun laws into place that habitual felons will continue to ignore.

It’s not people like Julius Ervin Jones who will be prevented from getting firearms or ammo with new gun laws, it’s law-abiding citizens who already adhere to existing laws and who choose to arm themselves for self defense and the protection of loved ones who ultimately suffer.
