Levi's Donated 250 Pairs of Jeans to SIA and Everytown's "Enough" Video for Gun Safety :: 10/23/2018

Members of the fashion industry are teaming up with Everytown for Gun Safety USA to lend their support to a powerful new music video bringing awareness to gun safety in schools.

Set to SIA's latest release, "Enough," the clip features 120 students from The National Dance Institute — a public dance program in New York City — dancing send a message about gun violence. The video was directed by Ezra Hurwitz, styled by Rebecca Dennett, and choreographed by James Alsop, who has worked with Beyoncé. To do their part, members of the fashion industry stepped up to help outfit the cast: Levi's donated 250 pieces of denim, and Everlane, State Bags, Banana Republic, Gap, Cynthia Rowley and Rachel Antonoff, all made donations of their own.

"Gun violence is a real problem in the world, and people aren't really addressing it," one of the dancers shared in a short video from behind the scenes of the shoot. "It is important, and we do need to address it now, otherwise it will just get pushed back, and more lives will be taken away. Maybe with this video, we can change the mind of someone," agreed another.

This is hardly the first time members of the fashion industry have rallied around gun safety. Last fall, designers Cynthia Rowley and Christian Siriano partnered with Everytown to create the "Everytown Fashion Council," which the website notes “will focus on engaging the power of the fashion community to support gun safety and help reduce the gun violence that kills over 90 Americans and injures hundreds every day.” Brands like Gucci, Jennifer Fisher, and Proenza Schouler have all also gotten involved in the fight for gun control.

You can watch the full video below, and visit Everytown.org for more information on how you, too, can get involved.
