Kentucky Self-Defense: Father shoots and kills son in self-defense :: 12/21/2015
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Sheriff’s deputies in Laurel County say after a man shot his girlfriend and started aiming for others, his own father had to shoot him.
It happened late Saturday night on Natures Bend Road, according to the sheriff, when there was an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at the boyfriend’s father’s house. Deputies say 29-year-old Michael Allen shot 26-year-old Ashley Beckner in front of their three-year-old daughter, Allen’s father and his wife.
Deputies say then, Michael Allen turned the gun on his father who returned fire with a shotgun, fatally wounding his son.
The investigation is ongoing.
