Is it a school shooting if the shots are near a school? :: 02/02/2014
PHOENIX - Authorities say several gunshots were fired Friday night outside a Phoenix high school as a basketball game was going on inside, but no one was hit. The Arizona Republic reports that police said 15 shot were fired near Cesar Chavez High School in southwest Phoenix. (FOAC emphasis added)
EAST LANSING, Mich. - A 20-year-old Michigan State University student has died after he and another student were shot in their apartment near the school's campus.(FOAC emphasis added)
Complicit media, including FOX news, are creating a new category of "school shootings". While we certainly detest any unlawful acts committed by a person using a gun, calling these two incidents "school shootings" is a stretch.
