How long can Holder hold out? :: 09/13/2013

We've written opinion after opinion, and we know that holder is in violation of 22CFR120-130, the ITAR, as is Hillary Clinton. We find it unbelievable that the arrogance of Holder trumps the legal system. Write your Congressman TODAY and demand a resolution to this National Farce.

Legal stall continues in Holder Fast and Furious contempt case Holder continues keeping everyone in the dark about Fast and Furious.

David Codrea Gun Rights Examiner September 12, 2013

A decision is expected soon by "legal scholars" in the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's civil contempt case against Attorney General Eric Holder for his failure to submit subpoenaed records related to the Operation Fast and Furious "gunwalking" scandal, William La Jeunesse of Fox News reported today.

The documents sought relate to communications between the White House and the Department of Justice, as well internal communications among senior DOJ officials, and center around a Feb. 4, 2011 letter written by then-Assistant U.S. Attorney General Ronald Weich, who told Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Chuck Grassley " [T]he allegation ... that ATF 'sanctioned' or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to straw purchasers who then transported them to Mexico - is false."

That assurance is what was proven to be false, and Congress wants to know why. Since no one from Justice wants to tell them, they have pursued the matter through federal court.

This column, as documented in an early chronology of initial reporting, has been advocating for complete and open investigations from Congress and the media since allegations first surfaced on CleanUpATF in December, 2010. That website, established by disaffected agents demanding an end to agency waste, abuse, corruption and fraud, recorded the first allegation that "walked guns" were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and that the practice, sanctioned by ATF management, had been ongoing and involved a multitude of guns. First picked up by citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh of the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog, this column joined with Vanderboegh to obtain information directly from whistleblowers, corroborate their credibility, report on findings and then use all available means to convince Congress to hear them out and protect them, and to urge the media to report on the unfolding story.

That nothing has been resolved yet, after numerous Congressional hearings and audits by the Office of Inspector General, points significantly to how far some in Congress will go to derail things, and how much the establishment media has been willing to put aside their agenda and report. As several observers have pointed out, they were all over Watergate, where nobody died. Fast and Furious death toll estimates are in the hundreds, and rising.

"Lawyers expect the judge to rule in the next three weeks," La Jeunesse reported. "Regardless, either side is likely to appeal and those involved say it is possible the case won't be resolved until Obama has left office."

That is hardly a surprise to those who have been following the case and remarking on tits singular lack of progress. Gun Rights Examiner reported on that on Aug. 20, noting the United States District Court for the District of Columbia ordered mediation between parties in March, with an April 22 deadline that has come and gone, and there has been no further movement aside from a bizarre filing where a woman from Michigan tried to intervene in the case and obtain a temporary restraining order against Holder.

Meanwhile, the $25 million wrongful death case brought by Terry's family also hangs in the balance," La Jeunesse wrote, adding "Lawyers in the case expect a ruling in the next few months."
