Gun owners claim all semi-automatic handguns and hunting rifles would fall under proposed ban :: 01/13/2019
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Gun owners claim all semi-automatic handguns and hunting rifles would fall under proposed ban. Gun rights advocates are digging in against the newly proposed gun laws in Pittsburgh, designed to ban assault-style weapons.
The problem, according to some gun owners, is that those weapons operate the same as regular semi-automatic handguns; they just look more intimidating. "But yet, everybody wants to throw them into the same category -- because why? Because they look scary," says Sam Piccinini, owner of Master-Ammo Company.
Piccinini demonstrates the similarities between the AR-15 and handguns, and how both are different from actual assault machine guns.
Furthermore, he and other gun owners claim all semi-automatic handguns and hunting rifles would fall under the proposed ban. "Their idea of banning assault-style weapons would ban this firearm and other hunting rifles," says Piccinini.
