One of our regular contributors says to use this when some knucklehead starts talking about Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground. We don't think that putting yourself in harm's way, except to prevent a rape or a violent beating, is very smart. YOU read the article, and ask how lucky this guy was that the DA decided not to pursue use of lethal force. We think the citizen, had he been in Allegheny County, Westmoreland County, or Philadelphia, would likely be in jail on serious charges. "Don't try this at home" is, we think, pretty good advice for those of us who live in less than gun friendly territory.
