Georgia Self-Defense: Police say shooting victim was 19, not 29 :: 12/27/2015

UPDATE: Warner Robins police say they're still investigating a fatal shooting on Christmas night.

They say Jerrel Walker was shot to death at a home on Oak Ridge Drive.

Monday morning, police released a statement saying that Jerrel Walker was 19, not 29. Police say they released an incorrect age for Walker last week, based on the facts they had at the time. They did not explain further and have not returned our phonecalls.

And while they originally said Walker was shot while trying to rob another man, they said Monday they're still investigating "what events, if any" caused the shooting.

So far, no one has been charged in the case.

Walker's autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

A Warner Robins man told police that he shot and killed a man who tried to rob him.

According to police, it happened around 8:10 p.m. on Christmas night on the 100 block of Oakridge Drive.

Police say Antonio Bagley, 29, told them Jerrell Walker tried to rob him so he fired his pistol at him. Walker later died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Bagley has not been charged, and the case is still under investigation.

Anyone with information on the case can call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
