Georgia Self-Defense: Cops: Man says he shot, killed 18-year-old who attempted to rob him :: 05/04/2018
A man shot and killed an 18-year-old he said was attempting to rob him, Atlanta police said.
About 10 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the intersection of Drummond Street and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard regarding a person-shot call. They found Quindarious Billinger shot in the neck and hand and a teenager dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the teen as Jamon Browder of Conyers.
Billinger was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. He told police he shot Browder in self-defense.
During an interview at the hospital, “(Billinger) explained to investigators that he was being robbed and returned gunfire, striking the suspect, after being shot,” Atlanta police Officer Donald Hannah said.
Police are still interviewing witnesses.
