Florida Self-Defense: Two Arrested in Robbery of Chinese Food Delivery Driver on the Westside :: 06/22/2017
JACKSONVILLE, FL (June 21, 2017) - At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 a Chinese Food delivery driver was given a delivery order for a residence on W. Arancio Drive on the Westside of Jacksonville. When the driver arrived he parked his vehicle in the driveway in front of the house and proceeded to the front door of the residence with the food.
When the victim (delivery driver) knocked on the front door and the door opened he was met by two black male suspects. The victim described both black males as being in their early 20s. The victim stated he immediately had a green laser pointed at his face from the gun once they opened the door. He saw that it was a green laser attached to the bottom of the barrel of a black semi-automatic pistol.
The suspect told the victim multiple times to "come inside, it's over, come inside" motioning for him to come inside the house while at gun point. The victim tried to turn around and leave when he was met by another black male suspect (third suspect) armed with a black handgun with something wrapped around his face like a shirt or a sock.
The victim threw the Chinese Food at the third suspect and was able to back up 4-5 feet away from the doorway, he quickly drew his concealed weapon, a Glock from its holster and fired at least 4-5 shots at the suspects. He continued to back up and once he made it across the street he started yelling for neighbors to call 9-1-1. The victim held the one suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
A short time later one suspect called in to report that he had been shot at a different location nearby. Officers linked the suspect back to this case and he was ultimately arrested. A third suspect is still outstanding.
**Because of the ongoing efforts of this investigation and photo spreads that need to be conducted, the identities of the two arrested suspects are not releasable at this time.
