FOAC's Weekly Message For Sunday January 24th 2021 :: 01/24/2021

I find it curious that for the last 50 years all we have heard out of the media and bleating, exploitive anti-gun politicians is that we must enact more gun control to protect American citizens. Setting aside for the moment, the fact that gun control is really an expression of our “so-called” leaders advancing legislation to not only take away citizens’ rights but to establish that citizens can’t be trusted, the fact is that there is an insatiable appetite for completely eliminating the Right to Keep and Bear Arms! The runaway Pelosi political paranoia, that is talked about later in this newsletter, has been evident across the last five decades by far too many elected members of Congress. Some have even expressed ambivalence about allowing citizens to own firearms because of the number of trained retired veterans that arrived there who know how to use them.

With the above being said, I want to point out that the entire gun control debate has essentially been nonexistent for the last 6 to 8 months at a minimum. Between the riots in the various cities and the incredible addition of over 8 million Americans as new firearms owners it seems that Democrats were trying to hide and suppress discussions of gun ownership and the Republicans didn’t have the courage necessary to bring it up and force the issue and the pull the Democrats out of the shadows.

An educated observer, paying attention to all of the comments of the last five years by the anti-gun groups along with their political groupies, would find it odd that all of a sudden, the debate on gun control can be set on the back burner. The desperate cries for saving lives now can take a backseat to the political debate and the realities of power in DC. This heartless and emotional evangelizing permeates every aspect of the gun control debate thus delegitimizing any of their claims and concerns about saving lives!

As an example, on Friday the 22^nd of this month, I was a guest on a show in a local TV station regarding supposedly the recent passage of the Ohio Stand Your Ground law and the recent bankruptcy news of the NRA. The amusing part is that they were having on Adam Garber from CeaseFire PA. What is amusing you ask? Well, it seems that Mr. Garber would not go on the air with me live face-to-face.

The unwillingness of Mr. Garber to face me and the legitimate arguments that we have about the failure of gun control is part of a much larger picture wherein they depend on gun owners to be intimidated by their debating tactics. I am not intimidated! Furthermore, it should be apparent to every gun owner that these groups and their minions cannot withstand a legitimate fair debate. They trot out their silly arguments about reasonable gun control laws while at the same time ignoring the fact that we already have volumes of gun laws at the state and federal level! What makes this intentional obfuscation on their part even worse, is the fact that they ignore government that does not punish the violators of these laws. Just this past week there was a temple university student who was killed by a repeat recidivist criminal as well as another one in the city of Pittsburgh who killed and murdered a woman. What both of these have in common, is that government had both of them in her custody and failed to prosecute and incarcerate them. So, when does the government become an accessory to these murders? So, when are the judges and prosecutors held responsible?

I admit, I get very frustrated with these anti-gun arguments and the people (most of whom are good people but shallow thinkers) who try to advance this concept without any concern about the unintended consequences on our society and the individuals within it! This holier than thou attitude on the part of many of them is just unconscionable as is the fact that there are paid mercenaries from the billionaires who fund these organizations who are solely focused on the concept of power and couldn’t care less about the average American! This is a common pattern throughout the history of America and as an example I would point you to the enactment of the 17^th amendment that was pushed by billionaires to take away the power of the states.

When you couple the above, with the recent video message broadcast by CNN, where Democrat Joe Biden put the lie to his widely-reported intent to preach unity during his inaugural address to what essentially will be a capital city occupied by some 26,000+ National Guard troops by basically declaring war on about 100 million of his constituents.

“My first day in office,” he declares in the video, “I’m going to send a bill to Congress repealing the liability protection for gun manufacturers, closing the background check loopholes and waiting period that now let too many people slip through the cracks.”

But just how “reasonable” is Biden’s widely-read plan to “end our gun violence epidemic” if it promises to pressure Congress and state governments to require further abridgment of the rights of private citizens before they can purchase a firearm?

I ask all gun owners to commit themselves to staying as vigilant as humanly possible because with the administration in DC there is going to be enormous pressure put on legislators at the state level to not only push abridgment of our rights but to also try to block good common sense initiatives that would fix egregious problems like eliminating the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, Constitutional Carry, extending and protecting Second Amendment rights to citizens between the ages of 18 and 21, reforming our transportation of firearms laws, enabling protections for citizens to carry firearms to park on corporate property where they work, and many others that need to be addressed.

Anti-Gun Congress Members PANIC & SUDDENLY Discover Self-Defense-Call in the Troops BUT Crew Served Weapons???

The reputation supporting and advancing gun control is legendary but her hypocrisy seems to know no bounds! After the January 6 Washington DC capital protest that got out of hand, we all saw that the military was brought in to supposedly stabilize and secure the inauguration of Joe Biden. Leaving aside, the need for 26,000+ national guardsmen with thousands of them still remaining in DC, it appears Nancy Pelosi was advocating for even greater firepower than just troops with fully automatic machine guns (sorry, this is a point that every talking head in the media seem to get wrong as they weren’t semiautomatic assault weapons).

According to acting DHS Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli, he told Fox News’s “The Story with Martha MacCallum” on Tuesday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi requested more National Guards be sent to Washington, D.C., even requesting “crew-manned machine guns” – a sharp contrast between how she reacted when President Donald Trump wanted to use the military to deal with the violence from nationwide Black Lives Matter protests.

Another point that the media got wrong was that while ordinary Americans have no expectation of the legal protections of law enforcement elected officials do. But really Nancy, crew served weapons against your fellow Americans?

In one bit of heightened irony Nancy Pelosi then ordered metal detectors outside of the congressional chambers. I don’t know about you but I found this to be darkly satisfying that people in Congress finally experience what you and I experience in Gun Free Zones! Although I highly doubt it, maybe now this will cause Nancy to reflect, along with her other anti-gun ilk, that the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights was not meant to have stop signs on it!

PS Why are all the media pundits ignoring the fact that in addition to the military in Washington DC there were a staggering number of “walls” erected to protect and shield Congress from the people. After all, isn’t that all we’ve heard about the southern border wall that it doesn’t work to stop illegal immigration? Just a thought!

Why Are 18 to 20-year-olds Denied Their Right to Bear Arms

If a young person in this age group can fight and die for their country shouldn’t they be allowed to protect themselves here at home? Americans who are between the ages of 18 to 20 have a level of prejudice and bias directed at them that has parallels to the Salem Witch Trials.

I was contacted by a young man named Brady who is 19 years of age and wants to go to the police academy and become a law enforcement officer. Imagine that, in this day and age of attacks on men and women in the blue he still wants to become a law enforcement officer. He is a current volunteer firefighter and his incredibly passionate and well-spoken about regaining his ability to enjoy “all” of his constitutional rights. He is running into a wall of prejudice and bureaucratic regulation as well as statutory law that is making it difficult, if not potentially impossible, for him to realize his dream of becoming a police officer because of gun control!

If after reading the above you are planning on reaching out and giving me anecdotal points about situations where one person here and there misbehaved within this age group, save your breath! I will point to you the young man and women who are over in a combat zone with machine guns and grenades and artillery pieces and LAW rockets and a host of other deadly devices and who perform courageous feats on a day-to-day basis!

If we are to truly respect constitutional rights then we have to make sure we don’t deprive our fellow citizens of those rights based on an unfounded personal prejudice. 18 to 20-year-olds are legally adults and can drive a 4000-pound battering ram. Now I know some of the arguments is going to be that they can’t drink or even, in some cases, by cigarettes but please keep in mind that these are not rights guaranteed by the United States and Pennsylvania constitutions. In my views there can be no waffling on this!

Brady is an impressive young man if he is to be judged by his letter to his state representative, his current commitment to his community and in my phone conversation with him.

Media Fixation on Election Challenges and Outcome Continues as Do the Lies!

At this point we’re tired of the dishonest assertion that there was no 2020 Presidential vote fraud, malfeasance or other irregularities/ illegalities, because "the courts dismissed those claims as unfounded, wildly exaggerated, etc."

Of course, there are volumes of evidence that shows these claims to manipulations of the available facts.

The House State Government Committee held its first election hearing this past week to review the many concerns that are casting doubt on the 2020 election results and caused extensive legal issues, as well as to dive deeper into Pennsylvania’s 1937 election law. The next hearing on Jan. 28 can be viewed online at www.PAHouseGOP.com.

In the end, the whole purpose of this is to allow you to see exactly what you haven’t been presented in the mainstream media and the make up your own mind. Millions of Americans have deep and unanswered questions about the conduct of the previous election and I hope this helps to fill in the blanks for you as you develop your own questions.

Anti-Gun Groups Lie About Firearm Safety

Leaving aside for the moment the ludicrously stupid idea of asking people who have no concept of how firearms really work to give advice on firearm safety, the real question is are there claims about being a gun safety group credible?!

Well now we have a further example of just how stupid and underhanded their politically motivated statements are.

Virginia has descended into the depths of a Democrat-controlled state (something more about the sea at the federal level) and coming on the heels of that control in Virginia is a deluge of anti-gun hysteria emanating from the legislature and the administration since they control all three levels of state government.

So, what has that brought forward? Well, while Virginia colleges and K-12 schools have moved to online classes and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has waived certain training requirements for Class B commercial driver’s licenses, as of January 1, 2021, Virginia’s Democrats have ended online classes for concealed handgun permits. In addition, Northam imposed onerous COVID-19 restrictions on indoor shooting ranges. HB 264 removed online course options and required an in-person qualifying firearm training or safety course.

Of course, this is part of a general approach by Democrats, where they make it difficult for private citizens to have guns for protection. For example, numerous states stopped issuing concealed handgun permits because of the Coronavirus. And, of course, Democrats have long made it as difficult as possible for law-abiding citizens to get guns by imposing high fees.

Are Solvent Traps Pseudo-Suppressors for Firearms and Can They Get You in Trouble and Put You in Prison?

In January of 2017, ATF stepped up enforcement in this area of law by shutting down solvent trap companies (basically machine shops) because, ATF alleged, they had intended the solvent traps to be silencers. Like pistol braces, Can Cannons, and silencer wipes, this is another case of ATF flip flopping. The public must be made aware that failure to remain informed about ATF policies could land them in prison. An item assumed to be legal to buy today, could later be recategorized as an NFA firearm requiring registration, a tax stamp, and the end of your privacy at home.

By itself, a solvent trap is basically a barrel plug. They are called solvent traps because if you install one on a firearm for cleaning, they will catch any solvents and debris that drips out of the muzzle. But because they also contain suppressor parts, selling them or possessing them without complying with the rules of the NFA can break the law. The big difference is that solvent traps do not have a hole bored through the center and they do not have a serial number engraved on them.

Manufacturers have produced a handful of different solvent trap designs with some using common auto parts as baffle components. It’s important to point out that these need to be pressed and machined before they work as suppressor components, but because they are sold as suppressor parts they still count according to the ATF.

The ATF has continued the pressure on the small mom and pop shops who don’t have the financial means to mount a massive legal defense. They are basically attacking machining companies because of their intent and not because they have made any efforts whatsoever to create or construct illegal silencers/suppressors.

Head Scratching Leftist Moment: Amazon NOW Opposes Mail-In Voting????

After all of the dismissive attitudes and condescension in criticizing concerns over mail-in voting for the November 2020 elections by Jeff Bezos and others on the left, it seems that Amazon doesn’t like the idea of mail-in voting when it’s facing a unionization vote at one of its facilities in Alabama. Huh?

In a moment of true hypocrisy, Amazon is telling the National Labor Relations Board that they should reconsider a decision that allows 6000 employees to vote by mail in an upcoming unionization vote! Check out this quote:

According to a representative of the company who spoke to CNN, Amazon believes in-person voting is "the best approach to a valid, fair and successful election" because in-person voting allows "associates to verify and cast their vote in close proximity to their workplace." What a concept. 

It is a well-known fact that employers have used intimidation tactics, including secret cameras, to discourage unionization votes. Mail-in voting would essentially eliminate that tactic where down the road organizers and supporters of unionization could be targeted for early termination or vindictive measures.

But in the end, it makes one wonder if Amazon is perfectly happy playing politics until it happens to be their own ox being gored. It also makes one wonder if Jeff didn’t know something about mail-in voting that he failed to make public!

Democrats pushed hard for mail-in-voting and other measures ahead of the November elections. The use of mail-in voting appears to have undermined confidence in the integrity of the results, as nearly 40 percent of likely voters believe that mail-in voting led to unprecedented fraud in the last election cycle, according to numerous polls.

Amazon spokeswoman Heather Knox said in the statement to CNN. "We will continue to insist on measures for a fair election, and we want everyone to vote, so our focus is ensuring that's possible."

Maybe, just maybe, they should have considered the consequences to our country instead of just themselves when it comes to voting!

Democrats Imposing Measures on Citizens They Condemn for 'Undocumented' Foreigners

“Following the January 6 insurrection, a seven-foot, non-scalable fence was added around the Capitol Hill complex,” Business Insider reveals in a Sunday article on “ramped up” security for the Biden inauguration. “Barbed wire sits atop the fence, providing an additional barrier to entry to the grounds.”

“This morning while in that half-awake /half-asleep state, out of nowhere I thought ‘Green Zones,’” WarOnGuns Correspondent DDS told me in an email sent over the weekend. “In places like Baghdad and Kabul, we built secure areas to protect our people and the government we were trying to establish from hostile militias. I never thought I would live to see a similar process going on in our national and state capitals. Yet here we are.”

These changes appear slated to last beyond the inauguration and become “the new normal.”

“Dems Demand Public Locked Out of Capitol Grounds Forever – Publish Bill To Install Fence Despite Claiming Walls Don’t Work,” The National Pulse observes. “The bill – H.R.339 – seeks to ‘direct the Architect of the Capitol to design and install an appropriate fence around the perimeter of the United States Capitol, including the East Front and the West Front.’”

Curiously, bill sponsor Ritchie Torres has in the past condemned such efforts, at least when meant to secure the country from foreign nationals attempting to bypass immigration laws.

“@realDonaldTrump is diverting money from important infrastructure, military projects & #PuertoRico for a border wall intended to divide our country,” Torres tweeted in 2019. Evidently, keeping unvetted aliens out of the country divides us but keeping citizens out of a Capitol that they paid for unifies us. Or something.

That’s not the only cognitive dissonance on display.

“The Capitol Police arrested a man for possession of a handgun and over 500 rounds of ammunitions [sic] after he presented ‘non-government issued’ inaugural credentials at a police checkpoint in Washington, DC,” Mediaite reports. Sounds like a real threat, doesn’t it? Especially with initial fake news reports saying he tried to use a “fake” ID.

Except you need to go to a source that fleshes out more details to find he’s a security guard, he was lost and asking them for directions, he is licensed to carry in Virginia and says he forgot the gun was in his vehicle, and the search was predicated on Capitol Police noticing pro-gun decals on his truck. Where have we seen that danger to supposedly protected speech before?

And while inaugural credentials are no doubt necessary security measures, the thought can’t be ignored that one of the points Democrats make about voting (and isn’t that what this whole electoral “controversy” necessitating increased security is about?) is that requiring government-issued IDs to vote “disenfranchises” minorities?

Apparently, the problem is (or was) recognized enough to hold a House committee hearing in 2006 on “’You Don’t Need Papers to Vote?’ Non-Citizen Voting and ID Requirements in U.S. Elections.”

We’re not done exploring inconsistencies.

“U.S. defense officials say they are worried about an insider attack or other threat from service members involved in securing President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, prompting the FBI to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops coming into Washington for the event,” Chicago’s WGN9 reports.

That’s a lot of government guns being deployed against unarmed citizens whose right, by Constitutional mandate, “shall not be infringed.” Hey, it’s not like Democrat gun-grabbers are really “anti-gun.” They just want to be the ones controlling them all.

We should have no problem with vetting the troops, although you’d think that would be a condition of continued eligibility to be in the Guard. Unlike Fort Hood. More likely, this is a political purge that will be used to conflate members who take their oaths seriously (including refusing unlawful orders to disarm American citizens) with white supremacists.

What we should all have a problem with – except for Democrats and “cheap labor Republicans” – is the foreign nationals who enter this country illegally who undergo absolutely no vetting and put the entire population, not just protected politicians, at risk. Unlike the “rigorous security screening” politicians lie about when “legally” admitting “refugees” from places it is impossible to obtain complete records from, those who sneak into the country undergo no scrutiny at all.

No problem, Joe Biden says. In fact, he’s counting on it.

“Biden will announce legislation his first day in office to provide a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants in the United States illegally,” the Associated Press reports. That’s because, unlike head-in-the-sand state and national “gun rights groups” that refuse to even talk about it, he knows they will vote overwhelmingly Democrat and overwhelmingly anti-gun, meaning an unchallengeable majority will be able to pass whatever gun grabs they dream up and be upheld by judges they appoint.

Lured in by such promises, a “caravan” comprised of thousands of Hondurans is on its way to our southern border. The Biden administration’s response?

“[C]oming right now does not make sense for their own safety…while we put into place processes that they may be able to access in the future.”

The great object is not to protect U.S. sovereignty, or even pretend to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions being used to decimate the economy of the middle class. It’s to make sure the tax-funded infrastructure is in place to process them and locate them to where it will have the most impact. Like “red states.”

And why stop there? If the Democrats repeal the 60-vote Senate filibuster/cloture rule, as Biden “signaled openness” to, it will take only a simple majority to pass new gun controls, pack the Supreme Court, provide statehood for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, which will result in four new anti-gun senators, and millions of new anti-gun Democrat voters.

On the bright side, they will no longer need to steal votes.

I was going to point out the hypocrisy of how, in order to even pretend to be consistent, requiring a government ID to buy a gun must also disenfranchise minorities the same way it (supposedly) does with voting, but the thought strikes: Give it a few years under total Democrat rule and we won’t be able to do that anyway. At least “legally.”

Unless you believe the lie that “no one is talking about taking your guns.”

Failure to Practice with Your Firearm and Your Method of Carry Can Get You Killed-On the Streets or in the Woods

We all know the old refrain, owning a firearm comes with a good deal of responsibility. We also know that the nature of human beings is to brush that off as something will do “tomorrow”. As a firearms training Counselor and a long-time firearms instructor I believe strongly in firearms owners getting, voluntary, training. Sometimes though I think it’s important to show real life examples and for that I will relate the story below. This lesson applies to whether or not you are hunting around dangerous game or walking the mean streets of your local city.

A Montana man was out for a walk with his brand-new Smith & Wesson stainless steel model 629 44 Magnum, which he carried because his neighbors had warned him about the possibility of grizzly bear encounters in his area. All of a sudden, he sees a grizzly bear emerging from the brush onto the snow and it was charging up the slope toward him. The bear was 50-60 feet from him.

So, what do you do, what do YOU do?

Well, it appears that this Montana man had only fired his 44 Magnum Smith & Wesson once and that lack of familiarity with the firearm and his method of carry nearly got him killed. His firearm got tangled up in his windbreaker trying to draw it from his holster. This lack of practice and training ended up costing him four months in the hospital although with the grace of God he was able to shoot the bear and kill it.

The purpose of this story is to remind you that whether you are in the woods run the streets, practice and familiarity with your firearm and your carry method is incredibly important and cannot be overstated!

1^st Point to Ponder: West Virginia US Senator Joe Manchin Betrays the Rights of His Constituents and Demonstrates he DOESN’T Trust Them

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is going to wield a lot of power in the new Senate comprised of 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans, and the red state Democrat suggested to CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday that he’s on board with using his influence to push for new gun control measures.

Speaking on the network’s “State of the Union” Sunday show, Manchin was asked by Tapper if he would back a ban on modern sporting rifles, but the senator avoided giving a straight answer in response.

“There has to be responsibility in gun ownership. This editorial climbs up on its moral high horse and proclaims that Pres. Biden must simply take swift action on the misnomer that they use for gun control called “gun safety” because, now wait for it, Americans own so many guns! Yes, you heard that right, the reason for more gun control is because this newspaper is advocating for the rescission of constitutional rights from Americans because they of exercise those rights too much!

Last week we were told, by contacts in DC, that Joe Biden had a huge number of executive orders and that they included numerous ones focused on the Second Amendment and lawful firearms ownership. Thus far, Biden has not elected to sign any of those Second Amendment related executive orders out of fears by the administration that they would be too divisive at this time. This does not mean they’re not coming it just means the implementation of them has been delayed, likely until after the first 100 days of this administration.

Closing Thoughts: NEVER Give Up!

These days many are filled with despair! Yes, it would be easier to just hole up and avoid the news. It would be easier to forget the reality that we’re living in. It would be easier to give up hope. It would be easier to quit our jobs and go into hiding and avoid today’s heavy issues. On some days, despair can look pretty tempting.

Remember that if we can hold onto the goodness in our hearts and not be afraid to live it out, then there is hope for goodness in the world. Protect the kindness in your heart. Stay firm in your desire for truth, justice and freedom. Rest well so that when the time comes, you can stand up for your principles with integrity and compassion. And when you look back on your life, you can have a clear conscience knowing that you did all you could to live with honor and righteousness.
