Chuck Norris Nails the Issue in the Charleston Shooting :: 06/27/2015

Chuck Norris, in an op-ed, takes on the phony issue of “gun control” pushed by President Obama and the gun grabbers related to the Charleston shooting.

President Obama was dead wrong when he immediately took advantage of the tragic South Carolina massacre to promote his anti-gun agenda. He placed the blame of those brutal murders upon the lack of gun restrictions and laws. Obama noted: “Innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hand on a gun.”

Norris sets the anti-2nd Amendment crowd on the right track when he notes Dana Loesch’s comments on The Kelly File as she takes down a leftist activist who is promoting gun confiscation.

Norris goes on to challenge pastors.

With all due respect, it’s about time that they woke up to the idea that providing for and protecting God’s flock means increasing church security, from children’s classes to main sanctuaries and fellowship halls.
Faith is not an excuse to bypass self-defense. That’s not my original idea or position. It’s found in the Good Book.
As one verse says in the Jewish Scriptures: “But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat”(Nehemiah 4:9).
Even Jesus said when instructing His disciples: “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one” (Luke 22:36).

In our church, a very large Evangelical church in Scottsdale, Arizona, there’s one thing we know for sure. If Mrs. Curmudgeon and I are in the service, an attacker will be facing at least two guns. In Arizona, in a room with over 2,000 people, there’s almost certainly more than two.

Norris is absolutely right, and our two guns are by no means “security” on our church campus. Churches are the ultimate soft target even if they are not – as they currently are in South Carolina – “no gun” zones. All over the world Christian churches are the soft target of choice for Muslim terrorists.

It’s time for our Church leaders to heed Norris’ advice and live in the real world. The Scriptures from Nehemiah and Luke are a warning call that deserves to be heeded.
