Billionaire and liberal operative George Soros says some of his agendas are being ruined now that Donald Trump is president.
“Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong,” Soros said in a Washington Post report.
For instance, Hillary Clinton’s loss to Trump put a serious ding in Soros’ globalist agenda. Overseas, the European Union faces the impending pull-out of Britain and a rising anti-immigrant sentiment. Soros has also become a political target in elections from Hungary to California. At times, his donations at times are used against causes he supports, the report states.
He admitted to not foreseeing Trump’s election.
“Apparently, I was living in my own bubble,” Soros told the Post.
Still, he expects to remain a player in politics. Soros is donating at least $15 million toward the 2018 races, according to the report.
How powerful is Soros?
Soros, the Post pointed out, is often described as “an all-powerful puppet master, a Nazi sympathizer and the person controlling the Democratic Party.”
Soros, a Hungary native, became “one of the world’s wealthiest people by managing hedge funds and betting on currency changes,” the report stated.
The 87-year-old has recycled a vast portion of his fortune into promoting liberal values around the globe. And he has billions of dollars to work with.
His New York-based Open Society Foundations spends about $940 million a year in 100 countries. In the U.S., the Open Society spends $150 million on groups such as Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union.
As he faces push-back on his agendas, Soros is pledging to fight even harder.
“The bigger the danger, the bigger the threat, the more I feel engaged to confront it,” Soros told the Post. “So in that sense, yes, I redouble my efforts.”
Recent failures have threatened his progress.
“It makes it very difficult for me to speak effectively because it can be taken out of context and used against me,” Soros said.
His goals included replacing several district attorneys in California. But that effort hit “a brick wall” in Tuesday’s elections, the Post reported.
Does Soros believe he can defeat Trump?
Soros said he wants to defeat Trump, but did not revealed a specific strategy.
He said he does not support current plans to impeach the president, and would only support it if Democrats overtake Congress this year and have Republican support for such a move.
In part, Soros claims to not like Trump because he is a “narcissist” who “considers himself all-powerful.”
