Alabama Self-Defense Shooting-Concealed Carrier Puts Bullet Into Armed Robber's Nose :: 11/17/2014

A group of thugs in Hartford, Alabama must have been expecting an "easy score" when they set upon a married couple who was returning home from a night out on Friday.

They fled in a panic after the husband countered with ballistic rhinoplasty from his legally-concealed handgun.

One person is recovering from a gunshot would after a shooting in Hartford on Friday night.

According to Hartford Police Chief Anne Ward, the man was shot after he and group of men approached a couple as they were returning home. The group of men was allegedly armed.

Police say the husband then fired one shot at a group of men, hitting one in the nose. His injuries are non-life threatening.

After speaking with District Attorney Kirke Adams, Chief Ward says the incident is being ruled a justified, self defense shooting. No charges have been filed at this time.

The concealed carrier will not face charges for the clear-cut case of self-defense.

The WTVY account is frustratingly sparse on the details of what charges may face the armed robbery who was shot, and whether the captured criminal has identified his fellow robbers.

If the husband had been unarmed, then the numerically larger group would presumably have been able to do whatever they wanted to the couple. It was only the presence of a legally-carried handgun that enabled the husband to defend himself and his wife from this gang of human predators.

Increasingly, more and more people across the United States are beginning to understand the existential truth that the only think that consistently offers a chance to stop armed criminals is the acquisition, training, and carrying of a firearms themselves.

As much as many government officials and members of the media hate it, Wayne LaPierre was right: The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
