3 Pennsylvania men charged with firearms trafficking :: 05/05/2017

Three men from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, were charged Wednesday for their alleged involvement in an illegal firearms trafficking operation.

According to a Justice Department news release, defendants William Chism, III, 27, Richard Earl Davis, 24, and Colby Syhur Grant, 23, were all charged with making false statements to federally licensed gun dealers.

Grant was also charged with being an unlawful user of controlled substances in possession of firearms, possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Harrisburg Bureau of Police Street Crimes Unit conducted the investigation.

The case was part of the Violent Crime Reduction Partnership, led by the U.S. attorney’s office to combat violent crime in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

All three defendants could face up to 10 years and a $250,000 fine for the charges of making false statements to a firearms dealer.
